Completed in 1420 during the Ming Dynasty, it occupies a total space of more than 720, 000 square meters. Apart from the complex of immovable palace buildings, the Palace Museum houses over 1.5 million items or sets of relics. Over 8,000 of them are designated as first-class relics. They fall into the following categories: paintings, calligraphy, rubbings from tablets, inscriptions, sculptures, copperwares, porcelain, textile or embroidery, jade or stone wares, gold or silver wares, jewelry, lacquerworks, enamel wares, carvings, miscellaneous handiworks, stationery, daily appliances, clocks and instruments, imperial seals and certificates of the conferring of titles, religious relics, weapons carried by guards of honor, ancient books, and foreign relics.

Walk 10 KM, 5 hours approximately, from Pingan Village to Jinkeng Village, under the guiding of local Zhuang and Yao villagers and Guilin professional outdoor walkers. Enjoy on the way the breath-taking views of terraced rice fields, mountains and ethnic villages.
Dinner: local flavour chicken, pork, and vegetables, famous organic food.

12 Nov  Guilin / Yangshuo

Walk about 80 minutes from the Jinkeng Yao village to the bus. Drive to Yangdi Village. Walk 26 KM, 4.5 hours approximately, along the beautiful Li River or take a bamboo raft to get to Xingping Village. Drive to Yangshuo, and walk around the West Street, which is filled with interesting shops and bars.
Dinner in Yangshuo. (Evening recommendation: the show of Impression of Liusanjie, directed by Mr. Zhangyimou, the famous general director of the Opening Ceremony show of Olympic Games 2008, Beijing, with more than 600 professional performers, and a beautiful outdoor stage on the Li River.
